It All Began When
She Said "No"
Being in the nursing profession, I thought I had a good handle on being healthy. I was doing everything by the books. Low-fat, non-fat, calorie counting, over-the-counter medications when needed, eating based on the food pyramid, and exercise, to name a few. It wasn't until I found myself suffering from debilitating postpartum depression that rocked my world, and everything changed. Before I knew it, I was taking massive doses of prescription medications to treat my symptoms. Boy, was I in
for a rude awakening!
After suffering from significant side effects and becoming numb to the world around me, I asked my physician if there was an alternative to treating my illness. She kindly said "NO" and furthered the conversation by telling me I would have to take the medications for the rest of my life. That's all it took for me to say, "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"! There had to be a different way to rid my body of this terrible disease, and it was time for me to take my health back.
That was the day I decided to look "OUTSIDE THE BOX" for something different.
Something other than what I had been accustomed to doing all my life. Something that wasn't the norm for our Western Society. Something I did not learn as a Registered Nurse. I took the Eastern Medicine approach and was blessed to find healing once and for all.
As a result, my life changed forever! Taking an Eastern Medicine approach was a huge eye-opener because I realized I could not support my body's needs based on my training as a nurse alone. I needed more tools in my wellness toolbox and an understanding of why a holistic approach to health is essential for the healing process to begin.
My superpower is helping women become the best version of themselves while pursuing the life they want.... one with abundant health, joy, and peace.
But, the reality set in when I thought about other women dealing with the same health challenges as me. Learning a different approach to supporting my body was the best part of my health journey, which sparked a real passion for my work. Therefore, I began sharing my knowledge with others. If I can help women find physical and emotional wellness with a natural approach their body can recognize, then I have done my job well! And that, my friend, is the legacy I want to leave behind.
being kind to others, daily routines, having a positive mindset, nutrient dense foods, plant-based medicine and daily meditation to settle the mind.
processed foods, staying up late, settling with things I don't want, keeping up with the Jones, looking at my phone first thing in the morning.
Guesting on podcasts, on coaching calls with my delightful clients, walking barefoot on the grass, making dinner, working in my home office, watching movies with my family
Morning affirmations and meditation, warm water with lemon first thing in the morning, yoga routine, using non-toxic personal care products, daily application of essentials oils.
